This was my final major project for my Foundation course at Camberwell College of Arts, in 2019. I was inspired by the work of Jeff de Boeur, who makes similar suits of armour for animals.

I wanted my work to tell somewhat of a story of the development of armour throughout history.

Left: Ancient Mycenae - Middle: Medieval German Gothic style - Right: Modern-day riot police

The 'Dendra Panoply' is the oldest unearthed suit of Armour in the world. Made from Bronze, it has been dated back to the Mycenaean period, between roughly 1350-1200BC. The Helmet was a leather cap lined with segments of carved Boar tusk. I thought since it was the oldest suit of armour currently known, it would make an ideal start to this timeline.

I gathered a lot of reference at the Wallace Collection in London of Gothic-era Medieval armour, for the suit in the centre. Online research helped me come up with a riot Police design as well. It's a recognisable modern suit of protective gear, representative of the development of armour up until the modern day.
